Our communities are full of young talented individuals of all ages who have a dream of being sportsmen. From athletes, and footballers, to golfers and even Karate fighters. And what better way to make this a reality than to encourage them, and support them to be able to nurture their talents and realize their dreams? Premier Foods Limited (PFL) believes that it’s important to contribute to the development of sports in the communities in which we operate and create opportunities for players to grow their abilities.
In this spirit, PFL sponsored the first edition of the Kenya Karate Federation Mount Kenya School Karate League for the inaugural open championships, held at Chania Boys High School. The aim was to promote this unique sport amongst the students.
Students from all the classes were able to compete amongst each other and the winners were awarded medals and PFL products.
In addition, PFL was also among the corporate sponsors for the 2022 Nation Classic Golf Series tournament that took place across various counties in Kenya.
‘‘The funds raised during the golf tournament were geared towards supporting children in various children’s homes in the country. The tournament also provided an opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to engage in a fun yet beneficial activity both for their physical and mental health, forge relationships, and create unforgettable memories,’’ says Chebet Misoi the marketing manager of PFL.
Chebet also added that they have a company football team called Peptang FC that participates in Sub-County Leagues, as part of the company sport Programme.
PFL believes that sports programmes provide a wonderful opportunity for them to connect with others in the community through a game that they love.
