Scholarship Programme

The scholarship programme is limited to PFL employees’ children who meet the application criteria as detailed in our Education Scholarship Policy. The PFL scholarship programme is designed to assist bright but financially challenged students commencing high school in meeting their school fees

Environment

PFL is committed to promoting environmental sustainability by increasing resource efficiency in our operations, mitigating our impact to the environment and surrounding communities. As a food processing company, we believe in the set Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and hence take part in the social, environmental, economical and Community sectors to contribute and improve on the said goals.

Tree Planting

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.” PFL is committed in ensuring with current conversations about climate change, deforestation, and the finite nature of natural resources, we consistently support in reforestation efforts.

Recycling PET

PFL recently joined other organisations in PETCO, an organisation that coordinates initiatives to collect, sort and recycle PET bottles and containers.
The local plastics industry currently imports 20,000 tonnes of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic PET annually and is estimated to grow at a rate of 10% each year. The industry is currently achieving a recovery and recycling target of just around 5% of what is consumed. PETCO Kenya aims to achieve recovery and recycling rate of 25% in 2018 and 70% by 2030. PETCO Kenya is a voluntary and independent non-for-profit organization, established with the objective of promoting and improving the waste management and recycling of post-consumer PET products on behalf of all stakeholders in the PET industry in Kenya.

Energy Management

PFL has an energy management structure that ensures that there is prudent energy consumption within the company. Spearheaded by an energy committee with energy management plans and sets targets at the beginning of every year, using the findings from the previous energy audits, which ensures continuous improvement in the company.

Community

At PFL we believe our success is linked to the success of the communities we operate in, we support communities in various initiatives.

Community Clean Ups

PFL was amongst other corporates and institutions that joined the rest of the world by standing up against the global trash problem and cleaning up waste through the various cleanup activities carried out in 2018.

Youth And Sports In Schools

Sports is one of the tools we use at PFL to bring people together. We endeavour to be a company that partners with local communities to promote sports.

At Premier Food Limited, we strive to adopt and maintain healthy behaviors by keeping our employees physically and mentally healthy to naturally improve their fitness, health and wellbeing. PFL conducts regular health checkups and/or trainings for all employees. The checkups vary from eye clinics, cancer examinations, TB checkups among others.

Financial trainings not only help our employees better understand the changing trends in the economy but also gives them the opportunity to plan and live within their means. Crèche

PFL recognises the challenges working women face in raising their children. PFL offers an onsite crèche facility that provides a safe, healthy and caring environment for children aged between 6 months and 3 years.
